live justice

Posted In: . By Nathan

I just listened to the new Justice live album, "A cross the Universe" and god darn it's very good. Just an amazing recording of a show I would very much liked to have been at.

It's got great tracks on it throughout. There are a few bands that I have yet to see that I seriously long to. Justice are one of them, this just affirms their amazing live shows like i've seen before on tv from their glastonbury and reading fest sets.

Well I recommend you buy it on it's release this coming monday! Here's a preview

Justice - We Are Your Friends (Reprise)

Justice - DVNO

Saturday Songage

Posted In: , , . By Nathan

Because I haven't done a Tuesday Tuneage post in a while I thought I should post this for good measure. Just the three tracks though, don't want to post too much music as i've had a post the last couple days too.

Lil Wayne - Mrs Officer
I like this? I don't even know why specifically. 'Tis good and as more and more hip hop enters into my musical habit it can't be a bad thing, broadens my cultural palette and all that.

Foals - Astronauts 'N All
Just another Foals song that's rather good. I love the band, definitely on the list of 'have to see live'

Justice - DVNO
My favourite Justice song, Cross is just an album I can continually go back to, it's very easy to listen to.

Side note - Good at design? Not got anything to do?
Design me a logo please
use photoshop or something just send it in a jpeg file, so i can upload it, try to get the same shade of red if you can
the hex code for the red is #cc0000

In my 100th post and on Halloween especially, I present the 5 scariest songs ever! And not the ones that are just shouting!

Radiohead - National Anthem
It spooks me out as soon as that sinister bass line kicks in, there's something evil in the track and Thom Yorke's vocals don't help out, been amplified with a weird metallic effect, he sounds like a squealing robot and i mean a robot IN PAIN. Plus singing "everyone's got fear" is just scary enough.

Arcade Fire - My Body is a Cage
The church organ does it for me, the lyrics are sinister and foreboding enough, but the organ, god damn it sounds evil and damning, like this tale leads to hell. The drum beat as well, what's that about? it sounds like it could jump out and attack someone

Justice - Stress
You'd be forgiven for thinking you were suddenly in some highly tense movie. The beat is just freaky, ain't it? building and building like danger is round the corner, I would not like to listen to this while out at night.

The Zutons - You've Got a Friend in Me
It's not the music here, but the sinister stalker lyrics, it's just frightening the prospect of what the singer describes.

We Are Scientists - Ghouls
I chose this basically because of the title, that's scary, right? It's got a slow, mellow but also frightening beat, the questioning lyrics sung almost monotonously add to the suspense/tension

So there you have it, I hope you're significantly more frightened than you were say half an hour ago.

100th post CELEBRATION TIME - waheeeeeeey what a milestone!

Well I just watched one of the best films I've ever seen

Dead Man's Shoes, directed by Shane Meadows and starring Paddy Considine, with a screenplay written by the two of them. For this film, Considine has been called Britain's answer to Robert De Niro. You can see why. He is astounding throughout this film. His last speech is superbly chilling, just amazing acting to behold. His character is so multi-faceted, you can empathise to an extent but by the end you will see his reasoning for what he does. It's packed with a few surprises that I won't risk spoiling. However, the scene of Sonny, Herbie and that tall guy trippin' is one of the best pieces of cinema I've seen.

Echo & The Bunnymen - The Killing Moon

Also I start college tomorrow YAY! I've been waiting all week to start! Man, I actually can't wait for it! I know that the learning is going to most likely be way more intense but I just want to meet new people and have a good time.

Knowing a few people here and there means that I'll have some friends at least, thats the only thing inducing nerves, if I can't make friends which is something I'm not going to worry about.

Justice - New Jack

Cold War Kids - Red Wine, Success!

Also realised that hypem is only picking up savefile links, not Zshare, so it's back to savefile for me.
