In my 100th post and on Halloween especially, I present the 5 scariest songs ever! And not the ones that are just shouting!

Radiohead - National Anthem
It spooks me out as soon as that sinister bass line kicks in, there's something evil in the track and Thom Yorke's vocals don't help out, been amplified with a weird metallic effect, he sounds like a squealing robot and i mean a robot IN PAIN. Plus singing "everyone's got fear" is just scary enough.

Arcade Fire - My Body is a Cage
The church organ does it for me, the lyrics are sinister and foreboding enough, but the organ, god damn it sounds evil and damning, like this tale leads to hell. The drum beat as well, what's that about? it sounds like it could jump out and attack someone

Justice - Stress
You'd be forgiven for thinking you were suddenly in some highly tense movie. The beat is just freaky, ain't it? building and building like danger is round the corner, I would not like to listen to this while out at night.

The Zutons - You've Got a Friend in Me
It's not the music here, but the sinister stalker lyrics, it's just frightening the prospect of what the singer describes.

We Are Scientists - Ghouls
I chose this basically because of the title, that's scary, right? It's got a slow, mellow but also frightening beat, the questioning lyrics sung almost monotonously add to the suspense/tension

So there you have it, I hope you're significantly more frightened than you were say half an hour ago.

100th post CELEBRATION TIME - waheeeeeeey what a milestone!

is this possibly the weirdest two tracks posted together at any one time?

Monkey - Monkey Bee
This is a brilliant track off of the Monkey musical soundtrack, there's a live action impressive vid for it, slightly edited version of the song though I think, well i love the chinese dance vibe it gives off, great!

Canned Heat - Let's Work Together
This song i heard the other day and remembered it's inclusion in Big Fish by Tim Burton. It fits in really well with the scene and is a generally good song.

I need to blog more, 6 so far this month is just poor.

If you're familiar with this blog you may have read me going on about Feral Mare a fair bit, well their drummer and a friend of mine, Tom Clements has recently joined this other band who I'm liking very much. The name is run, WALK! and people who listen to XFM may be familiar with them as they were recently part of that uploaded thing right? well they could've won the chance to support the subways and unfairly lost out.

But anyway, they're really good, saw them the other day in the railway inn in winch, £5 entry you can't go wrong. The songs sound much better live aswell, it may be because the recorded tracks don't have tom on them, he's been described as changing the band "from the white stripes to death from above on crack" a observation fairly made.

run, WALK! - GOD! I hate old friends

In other news, I love itunes, it may because i'm using a mac now but i was once adversely against apple's music player. It does have downsides but majoratively its awesome, the genius feature is bona fide ingenuity. Well my last played on itunes are:

Girl Talk - Don't Stop

Laura Marling - Captain and the Hourglass

The Streets - Fit But You Know It

don't have a cold and or flu, just been really cold today especially shopping in b'stoke, surprised that it didn't rain. But I had fun today, got some new clothes, spending my hard earned wages. Felt like posting the following that I've recently listened to.

GUILTY PLEASURE ALERT!!!
Amerie - 1 Thing
one of my favourite songs of recent years, if only all r&b sounded this good.

Jamie T - Dry Off Your Cheeks

The Who - I Can't Explain
I can't explain why this fits so well in the trailer for new adam sandler film 'Bedtime Stories

also has elvis costello's 'pump it up'

We Are Scientists - Cash Cow

White Denim

Posted In: . By Nathan

I like white denim, listened to their album more in the last few days and it is actually pretty darn good. A couple of songs stick which to be honest are so starkly different it's a bit surprising they are by the same artist.

Well go buy the album - Workout Holiday - it's pretty intense

White Denim - Sitting

White Denim - Shake Shake Shake

Just some filler music for the mid-week time. I feel like blogging, just get some old tracks out and about. Stuff I haven't posted before most likely and things that have come back to me from a while ago.

Kings of Leon - Genius
Possibly my favourite Kings of Leon track, it's just something that's great.

The Zutons - Confusion
Not my favourite ever Zutons track, but one of the best, lovely slow pace and charming lyrics.

Jamie T - Pacemaker
Who's hoping for new Jamie T material soon? I AM!

Dizzee Rascal - Pussyole (Oldskool)
Blud, don't make me get old school

CLASSIC. hope you like 'em

I've been sent a lot of stuff. At first the submissions I wrote about them all, but well now its getting a bit too much, I always have a quick listen, yet a lot of it just doesn't appeal to me at all. Well here's one of the first highlights of my emails I've had in a long time. When a song is named after an actor so great, its hard not to like if I'm very frank.

The Pale Corners - Steve Buscemi

I shouldn't really be blogging, have a lot of college work to be getting on with. I've got a great assignment in Art, to copy one of Jean Michel Basquiat's pieces. This is the one I've chosen. Now to draw/paint it.

Keep forgetting to blog at all. I've been incredibly inactive on here in the past few weeks. There has been a lot of stuff happening recently seeing as I've been starting college and the workload stemming from that has piled quite quickly. Also still working so that cuts out time for me to write.

Well I'll try to do more! Starting here, this month I've got another article planned already which is of a good band I kind of know.

Today, a smattering of older songs, all from a few years back now, still pretty brilliant.

Death From Above 1979 - Go Home Get Down

We Are Scientists - Worth The Wait

Archie Bronson Outfit - Cherry Lips
I just realised I haven't ever really gone into detail about how much I love Archie Bronson Outfit, the album 'Derdang Derdang' is amazing. Just purely fantastical.

N*E*R*D - She Wants To Move
This song is a case of hearing it but not knowing the artist, till the other day when I saw the video for the first time. It's a great song that you need to hear if you haven't

Till next time
