I feel like posting some songs, just because of the great lyrics

"Wouldn't it be great to be Dorian Gray, just for a day?"
The Libertines - Narcissist
A lovely question, wouldn't we all want to be that man of beauty from Oscar Wilde's novel. Its a great book which although overtly gay does conjure up some amazing imagery, coupled with the characterisation of the central character as this lustful, passion-desiring man who would sink to the lowest of lows and commit the most heinous acts for no fear of reprisal. I don't think i'd want to be him to be honest, there is such a lack of restraint and his nature is despicable

"It was all a dream/I used to read word up magazine"
Notorious B.I.G. - Juicy
Possibly the best opening line ever. Rhyming dream and magazine makes it a winner which although i guess is not a hard rhyme, just stuck out at me as a good'un. The song also mentions super nintendo and the sega genesis consoles. Which is coooool. Also can't wait to see the Notorious film coming out next year.
TRAILER:

"Loooooooooovvve me, wherever you are"
Razorlight - Wire to Wire
Ok, basic chorus but still I find it touching. The song is also very good, even coming from a band which are decidedly hit and miss with me. I absolutely hate Borrell, i'm sure of that but the band just produce good song after good song. I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't actually involved in the rest of the song. The song's also been stuck in my head for a while now so I thought it best to include here.

listened to a song and realised its brilliance even though you may have heard it like a thousand times before? Well I may be exagerating there but I mean that hearing a song again after a long time re-invogitates it, makes it sound alot better than you thought it once. It's like listening to it for the first time again albeit with a sense of deja vu.

>.<

happens to me all the time.

Right now,
Arctic Monkeys - If you were there, Beware
Killer of an opening hook, I personally am looking very foward to t'Monkeys' 3rd album.

Kings of Leon - The Bucket

The Libertines - What Became of the Likely Lads?
Best lament of a relationship ever? the crumbling of Peter + Carl is there, peharps more apparent than in Can't Stand Me Now. What became of forever?

This is the End

Well I've finished my proper school time now, only have to go back for exams, the results and the prom which is not at the school so technically don't count.

Its been a very fun five years at Winton, with plenty of downs for me but majoritively it's been good.

We had a leaver's assembly with a powerpoint of a selection of incredibly humourous pictures from throughout the last few years, though the selection of accompanying music to me was not good, that's how I've linked to posting it here, see I think these songs are better!

The Libertines - Don't Look Back Into the Sun

Joy Division - Atmosphere

Boris Johnson has been appointed mayor of London!

Hahahahahaha! I'm laughing at old Red Ken by the way, who would've have thought this time last year that Old Buffon Johnson would challenge the old Labourite at all or even win this election?

If I were David Cameron, I'd be shaking in my boots, giving this hilarious man a bit of power may make him hungry for more and who wouldn't love to see Mr Johnson beat a beleagured Mr. Brown to the seat of Prime Minister?

Seeing as this has nothing to do with music and this being a new music blog, I have to inform you that it has nothing to do with music other than me trying to find some music suitable for Mr Johnson and this turbulent time in politics.

I think the choices are suitable

Libertines - The Man Who Would be King

Last Shadow Puppets - The Age of the Understatement

Joy Division - Leaders of Men
