Well I thought I'd write it early, haven't done one for a couple of weeks anyway.

Feral Mare - Christopher
Ok, I do know the drummer, Tom (pictured above), I love this song though. Seeing as I now have a hypem listing I thought I should post this is an effort for the band to get a little more attention. There is a rather big amount of promise there I think.
Myspace

Arctic Monkeys - Flourescent Adolescent (acoustic)
I don't know how/why, but Alex Turner's vocals on this sound much, well human. If that makes sense. There seems to be more behind his voice and the cough he has is just humbling. He's no god, just a great musician/lyricisst. The whole mecca dobber/betting pencil line is hilarious.

Armand Van Helden - You Don't Know Me (GRUM Remix)
Now this is my favourite remix ever, they took a personal favourite dance track and spiced it up, making it ten times better and I just love every second of it. It's just a song that deserves a second, third and fourth consecutive listen. Too me I can see a Justice influence, but I could be wrong. Well done, GRUM

Radiohead - 15 Step (Live @ Lollapalooza 2008)
Regular readers may have read before of my love for Radiohead, I love the band, one of my ambitions is to see them live. This track is a favourite of mine that just somehow sounds amazingly good live, even on recordings, which you have to admit can never compare to being there.

Foals - Olympic Airways
Quite like this new single of Foals, the video is an almost certain head-trip mind-fuck of the Oxford band, it's competely non-senseical but still looks good, Yannis painted black is actually rather interesting, like, how could he have not got it on his face when they're thowing it at him.

I'll be on the college bus by the time this is posted (thanks again to scheduled posting) EEK! I ca't wait for college! YEAH

listened to a song and realised its brilliance even though you may have heard it like a thousand times before? Well I may be exagerating there but I mean that hearing a song again after a long time re-invogitates it, makes it sound alot better than you thought it once. It's like listening to it for the first time again albeit with a sense of deja vu.

>.<

happens to me all the time.

Right now,
Arctic Monkeys - If you were there, Beware
Killer of an opening hook, I personally am looking very foward to t'Monkeys' 3rd album.

Kings of Leon - The Bucket
Imma gonna show the way

The Libertines - What Became of the Likely Lads?
Best lament of a relationship ever? the crumbling of Peter + Carl is there, peharps more apparent than in Can't Stand Me Now. What became of forever?

Ok, first in a while, I need to try and attempt at some regularity. First off, here's my 5 essential tracks for the week.

I think this week the tracks are rather diverse, but I love 'em all.

Sufjan Stevens - Dress looks nice on you
Although I've heard alot ABOUT Sufjan Stevens, this is the first song that I actually HEARD. It's a rather astounding acoustic piece of romantiscism that I really like.

Arctic Monkeys - Bigger Boys and Stolen Sweathearts
A track of Turner and co that was missed off of the debut album, unfairly I thought, it has some very sharp, intelligent lyrics that houses a story I think most guys can relate to, one of my favourites of their back catalogue.

Santogold - Guns of Brooklyn
I love the Clash original, Guns of Brixton and this is an inspired cover, I think it increases the reggae in the song. "You can crush us/You can bruise us/You can even shoot us/But you'll have to answer to/OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOh the Guns of Brooklyn"

Black Kids - Love Me Already
The Black Kids, haven't heard the album yet, but not sure if I want to, they've delivered a couple of reasonably good singles, stormed the airwaves and do I want to hear more? Well I like this track I heard literally mere minutes ago.

James Brown - Get up Offa That Thing
TUNE! You've got to love this song, it's simply an amazing track that can get anyone dancing, made me this morning. It does indeed make you feel better.

I do indeed feel a bit dancey at this moment, I'm going to pick out a few tunes I think are in some way danceable that suit my mood.

Arctic Monkeys - Dancing Shoes

UNKLE - Panic Attack

Tenacious D - Car Chase City (The "let's rock, let's roll" chorus is genius)

System of a Down - Chop Suey (Who could resist dancing to this?)

Maximo Park - The Unshockable

And to end it off, this new and already really popular on the blogosphere track

N.E.R.D. - My Drive Thru ft Julian Casablancas and Santogold

It's brilliant! An incredible dance/summer anthem. Converse funded it and if they are releasing it, it is sure to do very well! I listened to it this morning and it's been on repeat since!

I think you'll agree this mix is reasonably unique.
