Well I meant to post this like not last week but the week before, better late than never I suppose, going on holiday seriously affects my organisation.

Prom was last week and it was very guuuud fun, lots of bad dancing to bad pop songs, although it was great when they played "Jump Around", "Wearing my Rolex" and that song that has "Whoop! There it is" in the lyrics, is that the title? Well the DJ did attempt a few mashups that worked well, though they mainly consisted of the track turning into another one. He was no Girl Talk.

Also he lost ALL credibility by playing Nickleback's 'Rockstar' as the last song.

Ok, well since my fileden account was suspended, I've been using savefile, but my only annoynance with that otherwise great hosting site is the links aren't direct so I am going to try out EZArchive and see if it's a better service. Well that's a side note, I am genuinely loving these tracks below

Fleet Foxes - White Winter Hymnal It's different to say the least, haven't heard much about this band other than the track. However, I'm quite ashamed that I heard it off Jo Whiley, the prime example of jumping on the bandwagon,the only thing good about her dj show is the occasional live lounge gem, but she hardly has input into that now does she?

Surprisingly, the relatively new track by Ladyhawke, Paris is Burning, was broadcast on pop music channel Bubble Hits, now I get to see all of the crappy music channels when my sister does her usual channel hopping and was really shocked to see this song on a pop channel, and abit peeved when they claimed they play 'new music first' even though its been on both MTV2 and NME TV for a few weeks, its a great track and I can see why it was played as it has a real electro pop edge to it. Ladyhawke may go far!

I'm not fond of remixes buuuuuuuuuuut there are a couple out there I like, today I thought i'd give this almost golden oldie out, I like it alot, off of a free NME cd i got, with Klaxons on the cover for the first time I believe. TUNE!

Every track on the album surprises me with both the extent of variety with the samples he uses and also the broad types of music covered, it branches out from indie to hip hop and nearly anything else you could think of in between

There are some really good tracks that are used, as said before it comes across a bit nostalgic, because by recognising the tracks it just reminds me how good they are. Here's a few tracks I can remember off the top of my head that stood out in the mash;

I'm not unhappy just thought of some other songs that are good if you're in a bad mood, or just generally upset.


The whole album of 'The Eraser' by Thom Yorke is particularly depressing, overall it stands out, I love it to bits and I have listened to it many times over and overm there are no real weak points on the album. Here is the track I think is the most harrowing, ironically; I do like singing it too, though no one can really replicate Thom's voice (I'm thinking of you Matt Bellamy!)

And to round off this week, it's The futureheads, for along time my favourite band until I properly listened to Radiohead, I think that this is such a great song! Hopefully their 3rd album delivers on the promises of revitalising their career

I think Hot Chip are amazing! They're definitely headed for superstardom with their 'Made in the Dark' LP, ok I think the album is hit and miss in my own opinion, especially the slower songs, yeah I really liked the song 'Colours' from their last album 'The Warning' but here, I don't like them, excpet 'One Pure Thought', that has both an amazing beat and a brilliant pop-art print based video that helps too.

However, I am surprised after 'Ready for the Floor' that they didn't release the better songs on the album as singles, like 'Hold On', 'Out at the Pictures' or the sending up of Justin Timberlake, 'Shake a Fist'
